Hissong "Watching And Waiting"

November 2004
I was doing my daily run. I was in better shape then. I get a lot of song ideas when I run. It takes my mind off the pain. I had a chorus running through my head. As soon as I got back into the house I went straight for the piano. I knew if I didn't, I'd forget. The words just sorta fell into place and within the hour I had a song. As I finished my day I thought, "Hey....this would be a great pitch for Hissong." I had seen them a few months earlier at NQC and they said to start thinking about songs for them. That evening I was at a restaurant. Low and behold there sits Gary Winningham. Before he left he stopped by the table to say hi and of course I said, "Gary I wrote a song for you guys today." Now, I'm sure artists get that line every time they see a songwriter but this time I promise, it was the truth.

January 2005
I recorded a demo to "Watching and Waiting." Yes, I run way behind.

February  2005
I get a call from Dennis Humphries. He wants to meet for lunch sometime to pick my brain.

March 2005- Outback Steakhouse
Of course I remember the meal. I meet with the group Hissong for the first time. They asked me to produce a recording. Before we leave Adam asks, "Do you have any new songs you want to pitch for this one?" I said, "one."

Final Note
This CD has been many, many months in the works. They wanted to take their time and spend what was needed to make this their best recording ever. It has been almost a year in progress but worth every month. This new recording entitled, "Watching and Waiting" (I really like that title) is ready for the public to hear. I truly believe there are very stellar moments on this CD. It's hard to choose a favorite on this recording. You will hear songs from Mike Payne, Cindi Ballard, Joel Lindsey, Geron Davis, Ray Davis, Barbara Huffman, Gary Casto, Jeff Silvey,  Matt Garinger and  well....me. This recording is definitely worth the listen.
